The long-running legal confrontation between gospel musician Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye and evangelist Patricia Asiedua has officially come to an end, following an amicable settlement that brings closure to two closely watched court cases at the Tema Court.
The resolution was sealed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, when the court adopted the terms of settlement as a Consent Judgment, effectively bringing the lawsuits—filed in May and June 2025—to a final close.
The cases arose from a series of publications by Evangelist Asiedua in which she allegedly described Empress Gifty as an adulteress. The gospel artiste maintained that the claims were false, defamatory and severely harmful to her personal and professional reputation.
As part of the settlement, Evangelist Asiedua paid GH¢100,000 to Empress Gifty to cover legal costs and related expenses. She also issued a public apology and formally retracted the statements that led to the lawsuits.
In a joint move to clean up the digital trail of the dispute, both parties have written to the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to assist in removing the offending publications from social media platforms.
Court records confirm that the agreed payment and apology have been fully executed. In exchange, Empress Gifty has withdrawn all claims and waived any further legal demands connected to the matter.
With the court’s endorsement, the settlement is now final and binding, officially ending the dispute. Both Empress Gifty and Evangelist Asiedua have indicated their readiness to move on, drawing a line under a chapter that drew intense public attention.
