Ghanaian actor Agya Koo has unveiled a new political movement dubbed “The Base – Ghana First,” positioning it as a fresh alternative in the country’s political landscape.

The announcement followed a public engagement at Kejetia in Kumasi, where the actor interacted with traders, drivers, graduates, and other members of the public.

According to him, the engagement revealed widespread frustration over economic hardship and a growing desire among citizens for a new direction in governance.

Agya Koo explained that the movement is being driven by the voices of ordinary Ghanaians who believe the country needs a “third force” beyond the two dominant political traditions.

He argued that Ghana’s development should not be limited to only two major political options, stressing the need for a broader platform that reflects the aspirations of the people.

The “Base – Ghana First” movement, he said, will evolve into a nationwide political structure focused on grassroots mobilisation across all 16 regions.

He added that the initiative will be guided by principles of transparency, unity, and progress, with a strong emphasis on amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens in national decision-making.

The move marks Agya Koo’s latest step into public advocacy, joining a growing number of public figures becoming increasingly active in Ghana’s political discourse.
