Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Awua Ankrah played a pivotal role in Riga FC's 2-0 victory over Jelgava during match day 32 of the Latvia Virsliga.

Ankrah provided a crucial assist for the second goal in the 87th minute, delivering a precise through pass to teammate Pape Gueye, who finished from a tight left angle.

The 23-year-old showcased his skill and determination, dispossessing an opponent in the center circle and skillfully maneuvering around another defender to create the scoring opportunity.

With a performance rating of 7.2, Ankrah was the standout midfielder on the pitch, completing 31 of 37 passes (84%) from 50 touches.

He also demonstrated his defensive prowess with four interceptions and a game-high 18 recoveries, highlighting his all-around contribution to the team's success.

Since joining Riga FC from Koper FC in the summer, Ankrah has made five appearances, starting in all of them.

His consistency has been particularly impressive over the past four matches, helping Riga maintain their position in the league.

Currently, Riga FC sits second in the Virsliga table with 75 points, as they continue to chase the league title.
