Akropong Assembly launches newspaper to showcase Government projects

The Akuapem North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has outdoored its newspaper to showcase the projects done by the Akufo-Addo led government in the area.
The 20-page newspaper dubbed "Akuapem North Municipality News" showcases numerous projects constructed and currently ongoing in the municipality from January 2017 to January 2019.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dennis Miracles Aboagye speaking at the launching said the newspaper summarises the projects in the municipality on the front page, and also details of which are in the inside pages.
He explained that "in all, 29 projects have been completed as at January 2019, and 36 are ongoing".
According to him "912 jobs have been created in the municipality and there are 2,248 beneficiaries under the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative".
The municipality he explained has given out 334 scholarships, also brought together 322 artisans into an Artisans Brigade to execute projects in the municipality.
He said they have also set up, among many others (including a microloans initiative) a fully-funded Youth in Agribusiness project.
He added that the locations of all the projects have been given for easy identification.
In addition, the news magazine has enumerated community-identified priority projects (two per community) that will receive attention.
The news magazine also has included sectors and locations in the municipality for various investment opportunities including for real estate, tourism sites, events centre, health spa, golf course, educational institutions, agricultural activities, and sports centre among others.
He explained that the main agenda of outdooring the newspaper is to render an excellent piece of public accounts by the Assembly to the residents to know what their money is being used for.
