Dutch- born Ghanaian striker Akwasi Asante was on form as he scored a hattrick for Chesterfield to condemn Barnet to a 6 nil defeat in the English Conference league.

Barnet were second best as Chesterfield took all three points with a dominant display at the Technique Stadium. Four second half strikes from the Spirits condemned the Bees to a heavy defeat.

Chesterfield's first chance came on 23 minutes as Inih Effiong broke forward before finding Muhammadu Faal who beat his man before striking just wide of the post.

The Spireites had a massive chance to go ahead 11 minutes before the break as Boden found Akwasi Asante, the hosts number nine only had Loach to beat, but slotted wide of the goal.

The game continued to open up and the hosts opened the scoring with five minutes to go before the break, as Asante raced clear and this time made no mistake up against Loach.

Boden was the man with the first chance of the second half as he headed wide of Loach's goal. The goalscorer Asante also saw a shot blocked by Jack Connors.

Loach was called into action seven minutes after the restart as George Carline struck a fizzing half volley goalwards which forced the Bees number one to parry away. Moments later Joel Taylor flashed an effort inches past the post.

The Spireites pressure soon told as they added a second for the afternoon as Boden scored from close range.

A third goal followed 25 minutes before the end, after a continued spell of pressure from the hosts, Haydn Hollis turned in a corner to put the game to bed.

Up the other end, second half sub JJ Hooper curled an effort wide of the post, as the Bees looked for an unlikely route back into the game.

It was four 15 minutes from time as Asante notched his second afternoon with a powerful effort past Loach. Three minutes later it was five for the hosts, as Asante cut inside and slotted past Loach to complete the hat-trick.

The Bees almost had a consolation goal when the ball fell to new man Dean Parrett but his strike from eight yards out was fantastically saved by Letheren.

With a minute left on the clock, the hosts continued to further their advantage as Jack McCourt added a sixth goal for the Spireites.

Peter Beadle's side were outfought in the second half and the Spireites took a well deserved three points at the Technique Stadium.
