Former Medeama SC midfielder Kwasi Donsu has indicated that, being overlooked for national team call ups is the most regrettable moment of his entire football career.

The 29-year-old recently parted ways with the Tarkwa outfit after a decade’s journey where he marked some significant reputations through domestic records.

His most memorable campaign goes as far in the 2015/16 season where his amazing trademark free kicks always kept the indigenous supporters fascinated. He scored 15 goals with ten of those coming from dead ball situations.

Inspite of such flamboyant performances exhibited, he missed out on the chance to make it into the Black Stars squad that had top names like Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari at the time.

Donsu said: “I was hoping to earn a Black Stars call up. A lot of Ghanaians were calling for my inclusion into the Black Stars in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season and I was paying for that chance but that did not happen.

“However if you look at the quality of players in the Black Stars in that year like Michael Essien and all and I am also a midfielder.

“Even though I deserved a call up that season, I was not given the chance but that didn’t break me down. I was disappointed but that is part of football and I hope that soon the opportunity will come up some day.” He told Green Gold FM.

The former Berekum Arsenals midfielder amassed a significant number of laurels with Medeama  which include one Ghana Premier League title, two FA Cup triumphs, and multiple continental campaigns which include an appearances in the group stages of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

He previously featured for USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the United States and Maltese Premier League side Sirens FC.
