Riyadh: Australia international defender Milos Degenek has joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal SFC from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, it has been announced.

The 24-year-old, who is currently on duty for his country at the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, put pen to paper in Dubai on Saturday after agreeing a reported three-and-a-half year deal.

“I’m very happy and very honoured to be part of a big club,” Degenek said in a video released by the 2019 AFC Champions League hopefuls.

“The biggest club in Asia - I’m looking forward to seeing all the fans, meeting all my teammates.”

Degenek is now expected to play a major role in Al Hilal’s 2019 AFC Champions League campaign after the Saudi giants qualified for the competition by claiming last year’s Saudi Pro League title.

Runners-up in two of the last five editions, Al Hilal have been drawn in Group C alongside Qatar’s Al Duhail SC, Al Ain FC from the United Arab Emirates and Iranian powerhouse Esteghlal FC.
