Sudanese giants Al Hilal have completed the signing of Ghana international Kamaradini Mamudu, securing one of the Ghana Premier League’s most eye-catching defenders during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old right-back has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Omdurman-based club, bringing his spell with Medeama SC to an end and opening a new chapter in his career outside Ghana.

Al Hilal confirmed the deal in a statement welcoming Mamudu to the club, with both management and supporters expressing high expectations. “All members of our club welcome you, Mamudu, and wish you years filled with titles and glory,” the statement said.

Mamudu leaves Medeama on the back of an impressive run of form that underlined his growing reputation. Known for his energy and attacking intent from right-back, he was among the league’s most productive defenders this season, contributing regularly at both ends of the pitch.

He signed off in style, scoring twice in Medeama’s 3-1 victory over Karela United to take his tally to five goals for the campaign, a notable return for a defender.

Since joining the Tarkwa-based club in 2023, Mamudu has enjoyed a rapid rise. He featured on the continental stage in the CAF Champions League and earned call-ups to the Ghana national team, achievements that marked him out as one of the standout full-backs in the domestic game.

His move to Al Hilal represents both a reward for consistent performances and a significant step up, with the Sudanese club regular contenders for honours at home and in Africa.

As Mamudu prepares for life in Omdurman, expectations will be high that his pace, discipline and attacking drive can help Al Hilal push for silverware and further enhance his standing on the international stage.
