A former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Ken Dzirasah says Prof. Joshua Alabi's quest to be the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is borne out of his conviction for the welfare of the party grassroots who have been neglected for all this while.

Mr. Dzirasah is of the position that Prof Joshua Alabi is seeking to lead the NDC so that he can redeem the NDC activists whose concerns and needs have not been attended to.

"Alabi is not coming for those who enjoyed so much and forgot about the grassroots. Joshua Alabi is coming for those who did not benefit from our presence in government. Joshua is coming for those who have expectations that their living conditions must and will change under our next government," the former NDC MP for South Tongu stated.

The longest-serving Deputy Speaker of Parliament was speaking Monday, October 22, to NDC constituency and branch executives in the Asuogyaman, Lower Manya, Upper Manya and Yillo Krobo constituencies.

He was speaking in an address to introduce Prof. Joshua Alabi, who was on his first day of tour in the Eastern Region.

"If you are here knowing that our party in government didn't treat you well, please, this man here, Joshua, is coming because of you. He is coming so that you too you will enjoy some progress in life and improve your living conditions," he told the delegates.

The grassroots of the NDC felt neglected and did not work as hard as needed to win the 2016 elec, therefore, therefore charged all those who suffered the feeling of apathy to return home because of the candidacy of Prof. Joshua Alabi.
