State Security Agencies in Ghana on Friday September 20, 2019 arrested some three persons suspected to be plotting a coup.

In a statement signed by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on Monday, the ministry gave the names of the suspects as: Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm and his two accomplices – Mr. Ezor Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Mr. Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu (aka BB or ADC).

The Information Ministry added that the plot was foiled following a 15-month investigation of the attempted operation.

Residents of  Alajo where the Citadel Hospital is situated have been thrown in a state of shock as their knew it was a hospital and not a place for manufacturing guns and explosives.

Assembly member for the Alajo electoral area, Hudu Ishmael says he is shocked about hearing this news as Citadel Hospital in its inception was one of the finest hospitals and it attracted people from near and far.

But as time went on they started charging astronomical fees thereby driving patients away.

According to him for the past six years the hospital which operates in a rented apartment has recorded very low patronage.

He said he always hears of terrorist attacks and all that but never imagined something of that sort could happen so near to his doorstep.

Another man who claims to live opposite to the hospital said he is surprised about this news and would not believe it unless he sees Dr. Palm in the grips of the police with his naked eyes.

According to him Dr. Palm was a friend and he usually came to him so they chat and at times gave him cash so cannot believe such man can get himself involved in such dastardly act.
