Former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has endorsed Alhaji Hudu Yahya for the National Chairman position of the party.

Speaking to sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, Allotey Jacobs believed Alhaji Hudu Yahya is the candidate with the magic wand to transform the NDC.

He noted that though all other aspirants are equally eligible, none of them can compare with the character and nature of the former NDC General Secretary, Mr. Hudu Yahya, tracking down his records for the party.

About five names have popped up in the National Chairman race with the incumbent Vice Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in the lead.

Former Education Minister, Betty Mould-Iddrisu and former Greater Accra regional Chairman of the party, Danny Anang and Dan Abodakpi are all gearing up to wrestle the seat from the current Chairman, Kofi Portuphy.

According to Allotey Jacobs, the NDC needs a unifier and there is no other than Alhaji Hudu Yahya who he believes will lead the party to victory in the 2020 general elections.

“I believe that we don’t have to worship persons. We have to vote for a person that can change the face of NDC and one person that stands tall is Hudu Yahya . . . Anything about reconciliation, anything about the outreach, anything that can bring the NDC people on board; Huudu Yahya is not left out . . . It is about who can lead the party to victory. Who can bring sanity, who can bring unity into the party,” he stated.

Allotey Jacobs also rooted for Sammy Gyamfi to be elected as NDC Communications Director saying he is "eloquent and have power over the Twi language. He is vociferous and can speak for the party".
