Ghanaian music sensation, Kuami Eugene, has showered praise on fellow artiste Amaarae, describing her as a musical powerhouse whose brilliance is only now gaining the mainstream attention it deserves.

In an interview with Doreen Avio, Kuami Eugene affectionately referred to Amaarae as his “big sister” and a “legend,” highlighting her long-standing presence and influence in music circles.
“Amaarae is my big sister. She’s a legend, though. But the funny thing is it has never been quiet with Amare. It’s just her circle… That’s where she finds herself,” he said.

He noted that while Amaarae has consistently created impactful music, her alternative sound initially appealed more to niche and international audiences than to the broader Ghanaian public.
“People she used to appeal to is not the regular Ghanaian masses. She’s been making waves since. It’s just quite sad that people are now getting to know Amaarae. But I’m excited they’re getting to know Amare now because the talent she has is insane,” Kuami Eugene added.

Amaarae, known for her distinct genre-blending style and bold visuals, rose to global prominence with her hit track Sad Girlz Luv Money, which featured Moliy and Kali Uchis.

The song earned international chart success and solidified her place in the global alternative pop scene. She has since gone on to perform on prestigious stages around the world and continues to break new ground for African creatives.
