The Minister of Energy, Hon. John Peter Amewu, has extended a word of appreciation to electorates in the Hoehoe constituency of the Volta Region for whose efforts, he is heading to Parliament come January 7th.

Although the outcome of the elections in the constituency is not yet known, results trickling in indicate Mr Amewu has made history by capturing the Hoehoe seat for the first time for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Reacting to his victory in a post on Facebook, Amewu commended Ghanaians in general for conducting themselves "peacefully and transparently" in the polls.

He described his victory as a history in the political journey of the Hoehoe people and appreciated them for doing the needful.

"I voted today at the St. Theresa's primary school. I wish to commend us all for conducting ourselves peacefully and transparently.

"We made history today in Hohoe's political journey, My gratitude goes to everybody for making this happen; God bless us all." Said Peter Amewu.
