Angola's head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has spoken highly of the passionate Ghanaian fans who supported the Black Stars during their previous encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

In their last meeting, which was part of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Ghana secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Angola thanks to a late goal from Antoine Semenyo.

Despite the disappointment of the Palancas Negras, Goncalves was full of admiration for the atmosphere and energy of the crowd.

Reflecting on the experience, Goncalves said, “One year and a half ago, we felt the atmosphere of Kumasi, the stadium, and the crowd was lovely. Kumasi truly represents the passion of African football.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming clash, Goncalves is preparing his team for a rematch against Ghana on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

The match, set to kick off at 16:00 GMT, will be held once again at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Black Stars are currently in strong form, having won their last two games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR). Ghana will be eager to continue their winning streak.

Angola, on the other hand, comes into the game with a recent record of one win and one draw in their last two competitive fixtures, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting encounter.
