General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has indicated that the infamous apology rendered to Former President Rawlings by Anita Desososo was not on the party's behalf.

According to Mr. Nketia, Madam Desoso who was dragged by the party executives to answer questions on her recent apology rendered to the party’s founder was unable to give reasons for the apology.

Madam Desoso at the commemoration of the June 4 Upraising in Accra, went on her knees pleading with Rawlings to forgive the sins of the party.

President Rawlings’ grip of the NDC began chipping away in the aftermath of his presidency in 2000, totally losing control of the party during the Presidency of John Mahama, where junior officials of the government openly rebuked him for criticizing the government.

Worried by the seeming friction between the founder and the party, Desooso said “let’s respect and love those who have sacrificed for us. Let’s respect and sacrifice for those who have helped us”.

Speaking in an interview, Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito has stated that Anita Desoso had no business apologizing on behalf of the party.

“I’m talking to you as Chief Executive of the party and the person who keeps records of the decisions of the party and I’m telling you that we never at any point discuss the possibility or anything about approaching founder and apologizing for anything. And as we speak now nobody knows the offence for which Anita was apologizing, and after she said it we brought her to a meeting trying to find out what offence she was referring to, she couldn’t answer. And so we considered it to be her personal issue with the founder”.
