Antoine Semenyo has praised AFC Bournemouth for setting a high standard in the early stages of the 2025/26 Premier League season, urging his teammates to stay grounded and focused as the campaign unfolds.
The Ghana international, who has scored three goals and provided two assists in five appearances, spoke after the Cherries’ hard-fought 0–0 draw against Newcastle United, a result that kept them fourth on the table with 10 points—level with Tottenham and Arsenal, and just five behind leaders Liverpool.
“We’ve been riding high for a little bit,” Semenyo told the club’s website. “I think the bar has been set quite high and it’s probably a fair result, but because of that maybe we’re disappointed.”
“We want to be humble and not get too big headed. We take it easy game by game. But we’re pleased with our start and the players are giving everything to keep it going.”

Semenyo has emerged as one of Bournemouth’s key attacking threats this season, combining pace, power, and precision in the final third. His contributions have helped the Cherries secure three wins, one draw, and one loss from their opening five matches.
The 25-year-old joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Bristol City in a £10 million deal, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract. He made his debut in a 1–0 loss to Brighton, and scored his first goal on April 30, 2023, in a 4–1 win over Leeds United—the same side Bournemouth will face in their next Premier League encounter.
