Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo described his standout performance in Bournemouth’s surprising 2-1 victory over Manchester City as "an amazing feeling."

Semenyo’s impressive goal, along with another from teammate Evanilson, secured Bournemouth’s first-ever win against City after 22 encounters, ending a decades-long drought since their last points were earned in draws back in 1989 and 1999.

In an interview with BBC’s Match of the Day, Semenyo shared his excitement, stating, "It feels amazing. The best team in the world.

We made it tough for them, and everyone is buzzing with the result. A win is a win. It doesn’t matter if it’s one goal or three; we deserved it."

The Ghanaian forward also highlighted the crucial defensive efforts of teammate Milos Kerkez, praising his ability to make important blocks that kept the team in the game.

"His contribution was so good. It was tough for all of us, but he made some important blocks to keep us in the game," Semenyo noted.

Regarding Evanilson’s impact, Semenyo expressed confidence in his potential, acknowledging the adjustment period required when transitioning to a new league.

"We see the potential in training. We know it takes time to settle into a new league, but he has done well, and the goals are coming now," he added.

Looking forward, Semenyo conveyed optimism about Bournemouth’s prospects this season, emphasizing the team's belief in their abilities.

"We have belief. We train hard every day and take it onto the pitch. Everyone is going to write us off, but we know what we can do," he concluded.
