Antoine Semenyo shows gratitude to Bournemouth family after support following racial abuse

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has penned a heartfelt message of gratitude to AFC Bournemouth fans following their incredible show of solidarity after he was subjected to racist abuse during the club’s opening Premier League game against Liverpool.
During Bournemouth’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, Cherries fans rose to applaud the striker in the 24th minute — a symbolic gesture in honour of his squad number.
The touching moment came a week after a man was arrested, later granted bail, and banned from all football stadiums in England for racially abusing the Ghana international.
Semenyo, who scored twice in the 4-2 defeat to Liverpool, provided the assist for the winning goal against Wolves in Saturday’s match.
After the game, the 25-year-old took to social media to thank supporters and praise his teammates for their victory at Vitality Stadium:
“Cherries fans! Thank you for your support in the 24th minute. God bless you all. Good win and important 3 points! Good to be back at the Vitality again.”
Semenyo has been in blistering form for Bournemouth, drawing interest from several clubs in the summer transfer window. However, he chose to commit his future to the Cherries, signing a long-term deal until 2030.
