“Having the motorcades and cars does not make you a presidential material, after all any idiot can be a president.”

These the were the words of Stephen Atubiga, one of the candidates hoping to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections.

Appearing on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben' show to emphasised his readiness to lead the party, he noted that a time has come for him to be President since according to him, having the means and resources does not make you a presidential material.

Mr. Atubiga said, “I will defeat Mahama, I stand tall than all of them. If you observe, the media last week conducted a survey and I stand the chance of winning the NDC flagbearer.”

The NDC commentator considered an underdog by many, insists that he feels confident about his chances and is amazed by the support from friends.

Former President John Maham on Thursday, August 23, picked his nomination forms to contest the 2020 presidential elections of the NDC.

Ahead of his declaration, Mahama on Wednesday called on the founder of the NDC at his office in Accra.

Among those who have indicated their interest to lead the party are former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance

Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekow Spio Garbah, a former Trade and Industry, former Vice Chancellor of the University for

Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi, Elikplim Agbemava and second deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.
