Romanian coach Aristică Cioabă is on the verge of reuniting with Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars, as he arrives in Ghana to negotiate for the vacant head coach position.

The 53-year-old tactician has been identified as a prime candidate to replace Yaw Acheampong, who was recently dismissed following a poor run of form, which saw the team manage only two wins, six draws, and four losses in 12 games.

Cioabă, who previously managed Aduana Stars during two separate spells, has a strong track record with the club.

In 2011, he succeeded the late Herbert Addo and spent one season with the team.

He returned in the 2015/16 season, leading Aduana Stars to a commendable second-place finish in the league.

The Romanian’s experience, including stints with Tanzania's Azam FC and Bangladesh's Police FC, is seen as a major asset as Aduana Stars look to climb out of 13th place on the league table, where they currently sit with 12 points after 12 matches.

Sources indicate that the club's management has shortlisted Cioabă for the role, with an announcement expected imminently.

His familiarity with the team and success in previous tenures make him a promising candidate to rejuvenate the Fire Boys' season.
