Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Myron Boadu looks set to part ways with AS Monaco, as the French club plans to offload him following an underwhelming stint since his arrival in 2021 from AZ Alkmaar.

Despite arriving with high expectations, the 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Monaco and has spent most of his time on loan, the most recent being a season-long spell with German side VfL Bochum during the 2024/25 campaign.

Boadu’s time in Germany, however, was a bright spot. He ended the season strongly, netting a brace in Bochum’s 2-0 victory over St. Pauli on the final day of the Bundesliga.

That performance capped off a decent individual season for the forward, who recorded nine goals and one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Unfortunately, despite his contributions, Bochum were relegated after finishing bottom of the Bundesliga table.

As his loan deal expires in June, Boadu is set to return to Monaco—but not for long. Club CEO Thiago Scuro has made it clear the striker is not part of Monaco’s future plans.

“There are no plans to re-integrate any of the players that left on loan,” Scuro stated, signaling Monaco’s intention to offload the striker during the summer transfer window.

With his contract set to run until 2026, Monaco will likely look to find a permanent solution for Boadu, whose career has yet to truly take off in Ligue 1.

His recent resurgence in Germany could, however, attract interest from clubs seeking a young, pacey forward with untapped potential.
