Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his enthusiasm for the signing of defender Joseph Ablorh, highlighting the player's experience and athleticism as crucial factors in the club's decision.
Ablorh, 26 years old, joins Asante Kotoko on a two-year deal from Guinea Premier League club Hafia FC, a move announced by the club on Wednesday via their official website.
Ogum, speaking after Ablorh's unveiling, emphasized the significant impact he expects the defender to have on the team's defensive solidity and overall performance.
"We are thrilled to welcome Joseph to Asante Kotoko. At 26, he brings a blend of experience and athleticism that will strengthen our defensive line," Ogum stated.
"His skills and leadership will be pivotal as we strive to elevate our team and achieve our goals."
Joseph Ablorh's tenure at Hafia FC was marked by his strong tackling ability, aerial prowess, and leadership qualities, which earned him recognition with a spot in the Team of the Season during the 2020/2021 Guinean top-flight season.
Asante Kotoko continues its proactive approach in rebuilding the squad, aiming to fill the gaps left by the departure of more than 20 players at the end of the previous season.
The club's strategic recruitment efforts underscore its commitment to assembling a competitive team for upcoming campaigns.
