Kotoko have finally secured a long awaited progress to the Group stage of CAF’s second tier competition for the first time since 2008.

The Porcupine Warriors qualified for the money zone on Sunday after eliminating Cameroonian side Coton Sport 5-3 on aggregate.

They were finalists in the maiden edition in 2004, losing the title to rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. They have since been struggling to cope with the expectations from their teeming supporters.

Nkana FC (Zambia)

Zesco United, the 2018 Zambian Premier League Champions, made it to the Confed Cup group phase after beating South African side Kaizer Chiefs 5-2 on aggregate following their elimination from the CAF Champions league by TP Mazembe.

Nkana FC beat San-Pedro 3-0 on aggregate to make the group phase while Al Hilal beat Mukura FC 3-1 on aggregate to progress.
