Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asnate Kotoko are set to embark on a squad trimming exercise which is likely to affect some senior players in the squad.

The exercise Will start on Monday November 18  and is likely to affect up to three senior players as management seeks to reduce the squad size ahead of the 2019/20 domestic season.

Reports say, the Porcupine Warriors Will terminate their contractual agreements with the underperforming players who are on high wages in order to cut down their wage bill.

The pruning exercise will likely affect under fire Ugandan import, George Abege who has failed to impress since joining the club from Kariobangi Sharks earlier this year.

Abege enjoyed a productive campaign with the Kenyan premier league side but has since his arrival In Ghana,  failed to convince the Porcupine Warriors with some below par performances in his short spell with the club.

He will be joined Alex Arnold Didi and veteran midfield Maestro and Kotoko legend Jordan Opoku in the list of high profile players set to leave the club.

Asante Kotoko SC currently have a squad size of over 40 players with new players expected to join in the coming weeks.
