Asante Kotoko have bolstered their squad with the acquisition of Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, who has signed a two-year contract with the club from Soar Academy.
Camara becomes the 10th addition to the Porcupine Warriors in this transfer window.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper, known for his agility, quick reflexes, and commanding presence, made 26 appearances for Soar Academy last season.
His arrival is expected to enhance Kotoko’s goalkeeping department significantly.
Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, stating, "Mohammed Camara is an outstanding goalkeeper with incredible talent.
His agility, quick reflexes, and ability to command his area make him a perfect fit for our team. He comes highly recommended, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our club."
Camara’s decision to join Kotoko was influenced by positive feedback from former teammate Amos Frimpong, a former Kotoko captain.
Frimpong spoke highly of the club’s environment and ambitions, which convinced Camara that Kotoko was the right place for him to continue his career.
"Amos had a lot of very good things to say about the club; the supporters, the supportive environment, and the ambition to achieve success.
This convinced me that Asante Kotoko is the right place for me to continue my career," Camara revealed.
With Camara's addition, Kotoko now boasts a strong goalkeeping trio alongside Frederick Asare and Fatao, further strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.
