Asante Kotoko forward Yacouba Songne has been rewarded his fourth national team call by Burkina Faso ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.

The 27 year old makes a return to the Burkinabe squad for the first time since 2017 following his outstanding performances for Asante Kotoko in the CAF confederation Cup.

The striker has been in tremendous form scoring two goals in the group stages of the competition as well as creating several goals for the Reds.

Burkina Faso are third in group I of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and will need a win against leaders Mauritania to stand a chance of qualifying should Angola lose to Botswana.

Yacouba marked his  debut for the Stallions in an international friendly against Kazakhstan, climbing off the bench in their 0-0 draw at the Ortaliq stadium on May 12, 2015.
