Asante Kotoko board member, Alhaji Abu Lamine has revealed that the club is yet to make a decision on its participation in the 2020-21 African Champions League.

By virtue of their participation last season, the two times African champions were selected by the Ghana Football Association(GFA) to represent the country in Africa's flagship club competition following the cancelation of the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Players of the club have been inactive due to restrictions imposed on football activities by the  Government of Ghana.

And speaking in an interview with Accra based  Asempa FM, Alhaji Lamin said, the Porcupine Warriors are undecided about their participation.

“We are yet to decide whether the current crop of players can take us to Africa and make an impact,” He said.

“In three weeks time, I believe Nana Yaw Amponsah will come to the board and brief us on the state of Kumasi Asante Kotoko,”the Experienced administrator added.

Asante Kotoko's playing body are yet to resume training, awaiting a government decision to lift the restrictions on contact sports.

Officials and players of the Ghanaian giants will also undergo COVID-19 test if they are cleared to start training.

Nana Yaw Amponsah was named new CEO a fortnight ago.
