A Policy Research and Civil Advocacy Group, the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has tipped a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu to win the Chairperson position for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), when the party goes to Congress to elect its national officers.

The NDC has already unveiled a calendar for the election of its Regional and National Officers who will steer affairs of the umbrella family into the next general elections.

The party has also made provision for those who intend to lead as flagbearer to submit their letters of intent to the National Secretariat.

Madam Betty Mould who is the First Vice-Chairperson of the party is seeking to take over from Mr Ebenezer Kofi Ofori Portuphy.

But according to ASEPA, if the former Minister of Education steps out to contest, she is most likely to become the next NDC Chairperson.

BETTY MOULD IDDRISU MOST LIKELY TO WIN NDC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN POSITION-RESEARCH CONDUCTED BY ASEPA REVEALS

A research conducted by ASEPA Ghana a Policy Research and Civil Advocacy Group in Ghana has revealed that Betty Mould Iddrisu the former Attorney General and Minister of Education is most likely to win the National Chairman position of the NDC in the September 2018 National Delegates Congress.

The research was meant to investigate the voting pattern of Potential NDC delegates in the upcoming flagbearers contest and also the National Executives Contest.

The research revealed that respondents who were mainly Branch Executives,Constituency Executives and Members of Parliament/Former Appointees affirmed various reasons for their choice of Mrs. Iddrisu as the Chairperson of the Party.

Most respondents said they voted for Mrs.Iddrisu because of her accessibility and her relationship with the grassroot.

Most MP’s and former appointees also conceded that the current State of the Party requires the strong leadership of the Former Attorney General who they  believe can be the most effective and unifying leader to chair the party to victory come 2020.

Respondents also confirmed they do not want a change in the General Secretary position and as such Mr.Johnson Asiedu Nketia should continue his role as the General Secretary.

Mr.Asiedu Nketia was the only National Executive respondents wants to remain in his position the research further revealed. Respondents believed John Mahama as Flag bearer, Betty Mould Iddrisu as Chairperson, Johnson Asiedu Nketia as General Secretary and Yaw Boateng Gyan as their National Organizer would be the most effective team to lead the party to their much needed victory in 2020.
