President of AshantiGold Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has outlined the targets for newly appointed coach Ricardo Da Rocha.

The Brazilian penned a two year deal with the Miners following the departure of Kjetil Zachariassen to Asante Kotoko.

Da Rocha makes a return into the Ghanaian scene after his wonderful era with the Ebusua Dwarfs, guiding them to 4th  place finish in the league.

His first challenge will be to lead the side in the CAF Confederation Cup competition which begins next Month.

The “Aboakese” lads have been drawn against Akonangui FC of Equatorial Guinea in the preliminary round.

“The target for the coach is to reach the money zone in the CAF Confederation Cup and also win the League domestically,” Dr Frimpong told Kumasi-based Ashh FM.

“I know coach Ricardo Da Rocha to be a very good coach during his period at Ebusua Dwarfs and I know he will bring a positive impact on Ashgold SC.

“Players of Ashgold SC play beautiful football but they are not strong so I needed a coach who can combine the two, so it’s the reason why I brought Ricardo Da Rocha.”
