Atalanta BC, the Serie A club and reigning UEFA Europa League champions, have reached an agreement with Cagliari Calcio to acquire Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana for a reported fee of €8 million.
The 21-year-old midfielder is set to undergo a medical examination this week to finalize his transfer to Atalanta BC.
Sulemana has made a significant impact in his debut season with Cagliari, starting in 16 matches and making five substitute appearances, during which he scored two goals.
His impressive performances earned him a debut call-up to the Ghana national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June.
Sulemana previously played for Atalanta BC's youth team before moving to Hellas Verona and subsequently joining Cagliari.
His return to Atalanta represents a homecoming of sorts for the talented midfielder.
Known for his work ethic and midfield prowess, Sulemana has attracted attention across the Italian top flight, making him a coveted addition to Atalanta's squad ahead of the 2024-25 season.
His arrival is expected to strengthen Atalanta's midfield significantly.
