Athletic Bilbao winger Alvaro Djalo has expressed his gratitude to Black Stars forward Inaki Williams for playing a pivotal role in his debut goal for the club.
Djalo found the back of the net in the 80th minute to secure a 3-1 victory over Celta Vigo in their recent La Liga fixture, with Williams providing the assist.
Williams, known for his blistering speed, outpaced a Celta defender on the right wing before delivering a pinpoint cross that Djalo headed in to seal the win.
Overjoyed by his first goal for his childhood club, Djalo credited Williams for his contribution.
"I am very happy, especially for contributing my first goal with my childhood club," Djalo said in a post-match interview.
"The first thing I did was run and hug Inaki for the gift he has given me, and I’m very happy."
Inaki Williams continues to impress, having now registered four assists in just three games. His creative spark was also evident in Athletic Bilbao’s 3-2 win over Las Palmas, where he contributed three assists.
The 30-year-old forward's strong performances come on the heels of his involvement with the Ghana national team, where he featured in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Williams' form has been a key factor in Bilbao's success this season, as the club continues to push for a strong finish in La Liga.
