La liga side Athletico Madrid are sweating on the future of Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey despite recently tying him to a lengthy contract until 2023.

The rojiblancos are worried about the prospect of Arsenal signing Thomas Partey and have hatched a plan to keep the midfielder at the club according to reports from Spain.

The Ghana international has been in sensational form for Diego Simeone’s side this season, helping them to third in the La Liga table while scoring two goals in nine appearances so far this season.

Diego Simeone will loathe to loss his midfield powerhouse so they will increase his buy out clause to a three figure sum in order to deter any would be suitor.
