Newcastle winger Christian Atsu has lamented his missed opportunities in his side 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at the St.James Park on Wednesday.

Atsu’s pace caused all sorts of problems for the United backline, he had two chances in the space of a minute but his first was a feeble shot, which was calmly collected by De Gea and the other went wide away from goal.

Substitute Romelu Lukaku scored with his first touch on 63 minutes, 38 seconds after coming on, before Marcus Rashford wrapped up victory 10 minutes from time.

I'm getting better. I'm working hard and I am trying to give my best to the team," Atsu said after the game. "What is left for me now is to improve on the end product, my finishing," he added.

"I had a lot of chances that i could have scored. For the game, I think I should have scored some goals."

Atsu has now played 14 premier League games this season for the Magpies and he is yet to score for the club in the current campaign.
