Ghanaian musician Mzbel has said she is ready to say sorry to President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if that will appease supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who besieged her home over comments she made about the party’s flag bearer in the lead-up to the December 7 elections.

Prior to the just-ended polls, Mzbel, in several video recordings, attacked Mr Akufo-Addo, describing him as a divisive leader who cannot lead the country. She added that the leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was not presidential material, hence should not be voted for.

But in an audio recording after the elections, a tearful Mzbel, who vigorously campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said she would apologise to Mr Akufo-Addo for her remarks about him.
