Across the globe, embassies and high commissions play vital role in sustaining international peace and security. At these embassies and high commissions, ambassadors and high commissioners are appointed respectively to represent their countries in the host countries where such embassies and high commissions are set up or built.

With my few years’ experience in global diplomacy, I have found that “Fruitful multilateralism is the future of international peace and security” which these embassies, high commissions and permanent missions play vital role in.

An embassy or high commission is a diplomatic mission generally located in the capital city of another country which offers full range of services, including consular services.

Ghana has been no exception of having numerous embassies and high commissions set up in its capital Accra. To mention a few of these institutions, Germany, Netherlands and American embassies, United Kingdom and Australian High commissions.

The basics of these embassies and high commissions is to help preserve and protect the relationship between the host country and the country represented by that particular embassy or high commission office and they are normally a point of contact or base of communication between two countries.
