Ghana and Reading FC defender Baba Abdul Rahman on Thursday made a donation to his newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United(RTU).

The defender promised his hometown club that he will support them if they should secure promotion to the top flight which they did.

RTU saw off Bofoakwa Tano who led the Zone One league tabke for several months only to draw against Berekum Arsenal on the last day with RTU winning to book their place.

He presented 50 balls, 50 cones, 50 bibs and 48 markers worth in excess of GHC 12,000 plus an undisclosed amount of money at the club's training ground.

The donation was done on the player's behalf by his elder brother Alhaji Salifu Rahama and Northern Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo.

Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo charged the team to put the equipment to good use in the coming season.

The player is currently with the Black Stars in Johannesburg-South Africa for the second World Cup qualifying game.

In July this year, he supported Juvenile clubs in the Sagnarigu Municipality and Tamale Metropolis with football equipment including 156 footballs.
