Basake Holy Stars head coach Abdulai Gazale is determined for his team to bounce back from a recent setback as they gear up to face Asante Kotoko in a crucial match on Sunday.

The Premier League newcomers will host the Porcupine Warriors at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park following a disappointing 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman FC.

In his remarks ahead of the match, Gazale stressed the importance of avoiding back-to-back defeats and emphasized the need to rectify their previous mistakes.

“We are taking it game by game. The next focus is planning for Asante Kotoko. We can’t afford to lose two consecutive games in the league,” Gazale stated.

He acknowledged the challenge posed by Kotoko, noting, “Every Kotoko match is tough because they always aim to be on top, and other clubs want to prove they are equal. We’ll be working throughout the week to get back to winning ways.”

After a promising start to the season, which included a victory over Hearts of Oak, Basake Holy Stars have struggled to maintain their form.

They currently hold two wins, one draw, and four losses after seven matches, placing them 13th in the Ghana Premier League standings with seven points.

Gazale's focus is now on rekindling their early-season success against a formidable opponent in Asante Kotoko.
