Bawumia confident of 90% delegate support in Tano North
Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says he is confident of securing overwhelming support from delegates in the Tano North Constituency during the party’s 2026 presidential primaries.
Dr. Bawumia, who is touring the Ahafo Region as part of his campaign, said he expects to win at least 90 percent of votes in the constituency, an improvement on the 84 percent endorsement he received there during the 2023 contest.
The former Vice President made the remarks while engaging delegates on the first day of his regional tour, which also includes the Tano South and Asutifi North constituencies.
He expressed appreciation to party members for their loyalty and longstanding support, describing Tano North as one of his political strongholds.
“I’m home — thank you so much for your support in 2023. I’m pleading with you to give me 90% of your votes, just as you did in the past. I will not let you down when I become President,” he said.
