Berekum Chelsea showcased their resilience with a thrilling second-half performance to defeat Legon Cities 3-1 at the Golden City Park, extending their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League this season.
Legon Cities seemed poised for a surprise result when Emmanuel Sarpong opened the scoring in the 16th minute.
However, the Bibires responded swiftly, with 19-year-old Kamal Suraje equalizing just two minutes later.
Chelsea's relentless pressure eventually broke the Cities defense, with the home side finding the back of the net twice more in the second half.
They took the lead in the 53rd minute and sealed the victory with a third goal in the 81st minute, dominating the final period of play.
Despite early intense pressure from Berekum Chelsea, Legon Cities initially held firm, defending resolutely and going into the break level at 1-1.
However, after the restart, Chelsea found another gear and punished Cities with clinical finishing, leaving goalkeeper Kwame Aziz helpless.
Mezack Afriyie and Stephen Amankonah were key figures in Berekum Chelsea’s attack, constantly testing the Legon Cities defense.
Their persistence paid off, securing the club's third home win of the season and moving them up to 4th place with 13 points.
Meanwhile, Legon Cities remain rooted in 18th place with just one point, intensifying the pressure on coach Paa Kwesi Fabin.
