Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah will leave Spanish side Atletico Madrid before the end of the month, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year-old is leaving the La Liga side because of the lack of playing time with the top-flight side.

There are two options on the table for the Ghana international to revive his career as he has struggled for playing time under coach Diego Simeone.

Mensah must sign a permanent deal for another club or opt for the several clubs seeking the Ghanaian on loan this season.

The midfielder joined Atletico Madrid last season from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes on a six-year contract.

He failed to grab a place in the starting team which resulted in the decision to send him out on loan to rival Spanish side Getafe.

The Ghanaian could only manage ten appearances with two coming in the King's Cup matches which resulted in Getafe asking him to revert to Atletico.

He struggled in this pre-season which has resulted in the decision of Atletico to consider selling him or sending him out on loan again.

Vitoria Guimaraes are keen on signing the Ghanaian on loan to boost his career as he scored five times in 30 appearances in the 2014/2015 league season for the Portuguese side before he was snapped up by Atletico.

Mensah was part of the Ghana national team the Black Stars before his switch to Atletico but the lack of playing time at the Spanish club looks to have cost him his position at the side.
