Bibiani GoldStars FC are actively reviewing candidates for their vacant head coach position, with Maxwell Konadu, former Black Stars assistant coach, among the names under consideration.

The club parted ways with Frimpong Manso following last Saturday’s 2–0 home defeat to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

Speaking to LUV FM, Communications Director Samuel Kwagyire emphasized that the club’s management is focused on making a strategic appointment that aligns with GoldStars’ long-term vision.

“Management is on it to make sure that at the end of the day, they make a firm decision as to who is to take over from Coach Frimpong Manso,” Kwagyire said.

“The assistant coach [Nana Yaw Amankwah] should be the person to take over to make sure that the team works hard and trains very well ahead of the second leg at JS Kabylie.”

Kwagyire confirmed that while Konadu’s name has surfaced, the club is evaluating multiple candidates to ensure the chosen coach fits into the future business plan of the team.

“Coach Maxwell, whose name has been mentioned, is one of several coaches whose names are on the table. Management would like to go through a full list to make a good choice.”

Konadu, a former head coach of Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities, brings extensive experience in both domestic and continental football, making him a strong contender for the role.

GoldStars are scheduled to depart on Friday for Algeria, where they will face JS Kabylie in the second leg of the preliminary round this weekend. The Miners must overturn a 2–0 deficit to keep their CAF Champions League campaign alive.
