The Black Galaxies of Ghana departed for Lomé, Togo, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, for an international friendly as part of their preparations for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria later this month.
Under the guidance of head coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani, the team left their training base at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence to face the Togolese national team at the Stade de Kégué on Wednesday, December 11.
The friendly serves as a crucial test for the Black Galaxies as they gear up for their highly anticipated clash with eternal rivals Nigeria. Ghana’s side has already played several low-profile friendlies to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the two-legged tie.
The first leg of the CHAN qualifier is set for Sunday, December 20, 2024, in Ghana, with the return leg scheduled for Saturday, December 28, in Nigeria.
Ghana's Black Galaxies previously eliminated Nigeria in the last edition of the CHAN qualifiers, securing their spot in the tournament in Algeria after a dramatic post-match penalty shootout that followed a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
The upcoming encounters promise another thrilling chapter in the rivalry.
