The Black Galaxies secured an impressive 4-1 victory over Great Olympics in a friendly match this morning at Prampram, as part of their ongoing preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

After almost a month of intense training, the home-based national team displayed their growing strength and cohesion, continuing to fine-tune their squad ahead of the important qualifiers.

Despite a competitive performance from both sides, the Black Galaxies dominated the match, showcasing their superior skill and teamwork. Yakubu Mohammed was the standout player, scoring twice, while Abdul Rahman (Nsoatreman), Issah Yakubu (Baseke Holy Stars), and Saaka Duada (Asante Kotoko) also found the back of the net, contributing to the emphatic 4-1 scoreline.

Looking ahead, Head Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani and his team are now focused on the upcoming double-header against Nigeria next month.

The winner of this crucial tie will secure a spot in the 2024 CHAN tournament, which is set to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from February 1-28, 2025.

The Black Galaxies are eager to build on their strong performance and aim to improve on their quarter-final exit from the previous edition in Algeria, hoping to go further in this year’s competition.
