Black Maidens captain Mukarama Abdulai has become the country's all-time top scorer in the history of the FIFA U17 Women World Cup.
The Northern Ladies player made it seven goals in four matches at the ongoing tournament in Uruguay as she skippered the team to the semi-final.
She has now toppled Janet Ayieyam who tallied six goals from two tournaments (2012 Azerbaijan and 2014 Costa Rica).
Abdulai crashed home a firm header in the 47th minute to give Ghana a 1-0 lead but Mexico levelled in the 61st minute from the spot courtesy Nicole Perez.
Substitute Susan Teye restored Ghana's lead on 75 minutes before Perez scored from a brilliant free-kick in the 82nd minute to tie 2-2 during penalty shootout.
Ghana missed two out of four while Mexico scored all four to advance to the semi-final.
