Black Princesses forward Mafia Nyame is determined to make the most of her opportunity to represent Ghana at the 2024 U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

Having joined the team's training camp earlier this month, Nyame is focused on making a significant impact on the global stage.

This will be Nyame’s second U20 World Cup appearance. In the previous edition held in Costa Rica, she played as a substitute in a 4-1 defeat to the Netherlands.

Now, she’s looking to build on that experience and contribute more substantially to the team’s success.

"I'm excited to be back with the national team to represent the nation. It's an honour I do not take for granted," Nyame told the Ghana Football Association (GFA) media.

"I'm going to make a mark at the 2024 World Cup. Though I was part of the team in Costa Rica, I didn't have enough playing time.

Hopefully, if I make it to the squad this time, I'll do my best for the nation."

The Black Princesses are preparing for their seventh consecutive World Cup appearance and are coming off a strong year, having won Gold at the 2023 African Games and the WAFU B Girls Cup last year.

With Nyame’s enthusiasm and the team’s recent success, they are hopeful of making a significant impact in the upcoming tournament.
