The Ghanaian U20 female football team, the Black Princesses, are set to play a friendly match against their Mexican counterparts in Bogotá, Colombia, as part of their final preparations for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup.
Ghana arrived in Colombia last week after spending over two months training in Cape Coast.
The friendly match will take place at the Centro Deportivo Choquenza on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 20:30 GMT.
Both teams will use this match to fine-tune their tactics and assess their readiness for the upcoming World Cup, which begins on August 31, 2024.
The Black Princesses are making their seventh consecutive appearance at the World Cup and are aiming to advance beyond the group stage for the first time.
They have been drawn into Group E alongside former champions Japan, Austria, and New Zealand. Ghana's opening match will be against Austria on September 2.
Coach Yussif Basigi has named his final squad, which includes America-based players Jenna Kayla Sapong and Alexandra Emefa Tay.
The team is focused on building momentum and sharpening their performance in anticipation of a challenging tournament.
