The Black Queens of Ghana dropped from 47th to 50th position in the latest FIFA ranking after their uninspiring display in the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nation.

Ghana bowed out of the competition on home soil at the group stages after picking only four points in three games.

Their exit from the competition means, they failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in France next year.

According to the FIFA ranking released on Friday, November 7, the Black Queens are ranked number four position in Africa.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria, champions of the just ended African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON 2018) are ranked number one in Africa, Banyana Banyana of South Africa, runners-up at the 2018 AWCON, are third while Cameroon is second.

The top 10 countries in Africa include Cote D’Ivoire (fifth), Equatorial Guinea (sixth), Morocco (seventh), Algeria (eighth), Mali is ninth while Senegal is 10th.

The top ten countries in the world are; US (1), Germany (2), France (3), England (4), Canada (5), Australia (6), Netherlands (7), Japan (8), Sweden (9) and Brazil (10).

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola women’s world ranking will be published on March 29, 2019.
