Ghana’s Black Queens will head to the United Arab Emirates later this month as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with the team set to compete in the Pink Ladies Cup.
The invitational tournament, scheduled to run from 28 February to 6 March, will see Ghana come up against Russia, Hong Kong and Tanzania, offering the Black Queens an early opportunity to test themselves against a mix of African and international opposition.
The trip forms a key part of Ghana’s pre-WAFCON programme, as the technical team looks to rebuild confidence, sharpen tactics and assess players ahead of the continental showpiece later in the year.
For the Black Queens, the Pink Ladies Cup is more than just a series of friendly matches. It provides valuable competitive minutes, a chance to integrate new faces into the squad and an opportunity to measure progress after recent rebuilding efforts.
The tournament will also give the players exposure to different playing styles, something head coach and his staff believe is essential as Ghana targets a strong showing at WAFCON 2026.
With preparations gathering pace, supporters will be hoping the UAE camp helps lay a solid foundation for a revived Black Queens side ready to shine on the African stage.
