Black Starlets head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has assured Ghanaians that his side will give their all at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire.
The team wrapped up preparations in Accra on Sunday before departing for Yamoussoukro, where the tournament kicks off on September 20.
Ogum, the former Asante Kotoko trainer, praised his squad’s work ethic during camp and expressed confidence in their readiness.
“We have had a very productive camp, and the players have shown great commitment,” he told the GFA website.
“We are going to Côte d’Ivoire determined to compete and make Ghanaians proud.”
Ghana, drawn in Group A, will begin their campaign against Togo on Saturday, September 20, before facing hosts Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday, September 23. They will wrap up the group stage against Niger on Friday, September 26. All matches will be staged at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.
The tournament also serves as the official qualifier for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, meaning only the top-performing sides will book their place at the continental showpiece.
A two-time FIFA U-17 World Cup champion, Ghana will be aiming to reclaim their dominance at youth level and signal their return to the big stage.
