Black Stars coach Otto Addo demonstrated heartfelt support by visiting injured Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu before his surgery in France on Monday, December 16, 2024.

The Stade Rennes right-back suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee during a Ligue 1 clash against LOSC last month.

Ahead of the surgery, Addo shared words of encouragement with Seidu, emphasizing the nation’s solidarity with the talented player during this challenging time.

The surgery was successful, and Seidu is set to begin a long rehabilitation process.

Unfortunately, the injury rules him out of action until next year, causing him to miss Ghana’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March.

Before his setback, Seidu was in sensational form for Stade Rennes, even earning the club’s Player of the Month Award for September.

His absence will be a significant loss for both club and country as they navigate their respective campaigns.
